Jak widać, jest to Rambler Matador z 1971 roku, z silnikiem V8 i kierownicą po prawej stronie, która to jest standardem w Australii.
Ramblery były w latach 70-tych sprowadzane z Ameryki do Australii i montowane w fabryce Australian Motor Industries. Ci sami robotnicy składali także w tym czasie Toyoty. Także kolor nadwozia (mokka - kawa z mlekiem) jest identyczny u aut Toyoty z tych czasów.
Nabyłem ten samochód w 1977 roku, kiedy to byłem jednym z czołowych aktorów w telewizyjnym serialu akcji "Chopper Squad" (odpowiednik "W11-Wydział Śledczy" i podobnych - przyp. red.). W tych czasach wygląd auta był bardzo stylowy i macho, więc pasował do mojego imażu aktorskiego.
Przez te trzydzieści lat posiadania samochodu, Rambler był niezawodnym autem, i samodzielnie mogłem dokonywać bieżącego serwisu i drobnych napraw.
Niestety ostatnimi czasy samochód zepsuł się poważnie parę razy, za każdym razem na ruchliwych drogach ekspresowych. Myślę, że ostatecznie już czas, poszukać nowego środka transportu i przekazać Ramblera (mam nadzieję) w ręce entuzjasty, który przywróci mu dawnej chwały blask.

It is, as you can see, a 1971 Rambler Matador, V8, right hand drive, which is the standard driving position in Australia.
Ramblers back in the 70's were imported into Australia from America, they were assembled here by Australian Motor Industries, the same people who assembled Toyota cars at the time, hence it's color, (mocha) can also be found on Toyota's of the period.
I purchased the car in 1977 when I was one of the lead actors in an Australian action television series called "Chopper Squad" I felt at the time that the very stylish and macho look of the car went with the image, that's actors for you.
Over the the thirty I've owned it, the Rambler has been a very reliable vehicle, and I have for those thirty years, done most of the maintenance and repairs myself.
Unfortunately it let me down badly a couple of times in recent years, both times leaving me stranded on expressways, and as a result, I felt it was time to find new transport and pass the Rambler on (hopefully) to an enthusiast who might return it to it's former glory.
