In 1978 some folks met and by discussion made a rash decision. They decided to build an artistic project. They bought ca. twenty junk cars from the Sixties and early Seventies. They buried all the cars under asphalt in the Hamden Plaza parking lot. Their intention was to make it as a car totem. You can be sure that some locals have used the ghost parking as a useful landmark for giving directions. For years the asphalt was torn by skateboarders. Some years later, in 2003, the ghost parking was demolished.
